Has your oven ever stopped working in the middle of cooking breakfast or just as your about to make a holiday dinner? Oven troubles always seem to occur at the most inopportune times.
Common oven issues include:
Your oven produces inadequate or uneven heat
The oven has no heat at all
One or more elements are not working
The oven thermostat fails
The temperature sensor no longer functions
Control board malfunctions
Oven Care Tips
Cleaning your oven
Clean your oven regularly to maintain it’s efficiency for as long as possible. If you are cleaning your oven by hand, make sure to unplug it. This is especially important if you are using water. Ovens are plugged into a 240 volt outlet, which can give you quite the shock!
Cleaning the knobs
One of the major service call outs for ovens is from cleaning the knobs. If you spray cleaner on them, it can run behind and get into the electrical system, causing things to fail. It is better to spray the cloth you are using to clean your oven, not the oven itself.
Oven elements
Heating elements will eventually burn out, like a light bulb. You can tell if the element is burnt out if there are boils and blisters on it, or you may even see quite the spark show! Once they burn out, they need to be replaced because they are not repairable.
